As a REALTOR^® you have access to free information services offered only to members. Many services also offer free Email updates. You need only to register online.

Below are listed only a few of your available resources at the Massachusetts Association of REALTORS^® and the National Association of REALTORS^®. To find out more information logon to MAR & NAR.

Legal Hotline 800-370-5342

Monday-Friday, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Legal Hotline is among the most popular of MAR's services. It provides toll free access to staff attorneys who can provide information on real estate law and related regulatory and ethical matters.

Access to the Legal Hotline is restricted to office principals, managers, and their designees, but any member may have a question forwarded through an authorized REALTOR^® within their firm. To gain authorization, members must first complete and sign the Legal Hotline authorization form.

Once approved as an authorized caller, you can access the Hotline by calling 800-370-LEGAL (5342), sending an e-mail to legalhotline@marealtor.com or fax questions to 781-890-4919.

The MAR Legal Department has also prepared numerous Legal Issues Briefing Papers on some of the more commonly addressed topics from the Legal Hot Line. They include a written synopsis of relevant law, answers to FAQs, and other important considerations for agents/brokers. Some of the subjects covered are deeds, escrow disputes, gifts, probate, radon, security deposits, RESPA and the Wetlands Protection Act.

Technology, technology and more technology!

New technologies bring with them new challenges. The Tech Helpline is a toll-free service to help keep your business running smoothly.

MAR offers REALTORS^® access to a staff of trained technology counselors who can help you to resolve problems with software and hardware operations, Internet connection issues; computer compatibility with printers, scanners, digital cameras and other new business devices, and basic functions of the association's electronic forms software MassForms™.

MAR has also made available in the Member Resources section of their website marealtor.com, informative publications, FAQs, and tools to help you manage the adoption and maintenance of new technologies.

MAR’s new web site provides a multitude of services to enhance your marketing efforts, increase exposure to consumers, and efficiently complete business transactions.

You have a free member home page on marealtor.com which allows buyers and sellers to locate you by community, specialty area of practice, and professional designation.

You can also register online for education courses and order merchandise from the MAR Product Mall.

The resource section provides you with access to an extensive library of industry materials, association documents, and proprietary member information.

Massachusetts Housing Reports

MAR issues quarterly housing reports which monitor activity in the state’s detached single-family home and condominium markets, and bi-annual reports on the multifamily housing market. Each report contains commentary on current market conditions, analysis of major market trends, and year-to-year sales, price and inventory data for the state and regional markets across Massachusetts. MAR’s quarterly housing reports are summarized in Bay State REALTOR® magazine, and are available in their entirety on MAR's web site.

MAR, also produces in conjunction with the National Association of REALTORS®, an annual survey of homebuyers and sellers which details consumers’ habits and motivations, and the economic and market factors affecting the home search and sale processes.

Real Estate Library

The largest real estate library in the world.

Services open to visiting members Monday-Friday, 8:30am-12noon & 2:00-4:30pm CST.

Members have access to the extensive collection of books, articles, reports, statistics, tapes, DVDs, as well as real estate and business periodicals & journals. You can check something out or get customized research for a special project. Quick reference questions are answered at no charge. Requests that involve research or loaned materials are assessed a minimal service fee of $10.00.
